SPELLS SYSTEM UPDATED #
We have updated our spells system to support the latest new functions introduced to the game with the latest base game patch. This was a massive task which required us to review around 20k lines of code!
This change will bring benefits to several systems, from spells themselves, to Polymorph special abilities!
DISPEL SYSTEM UN-HARDCODED #
We have completely un-hardcoded the base game dispel mechanic (thanks to latest base game update!)
Our new dispel system will work similarly to vanilla (in terms of math: 1d20 + dispel's caster level vs. 11 + effect creator's caster level
), with a few exceptions:
- If you try to dispel a hostile creature, you will attempt to dispel only those effects considered a “buff” for such creature. This means you won’t touch hostile effects applied by you or by your allies.
- In example, yon can completely strip all buffs from a target, without also stripping that Bigby hand debuff you applied to it previously.
- If you try to dispel a friendly creature (like a summon or a party member), you will attempt to dispel only those effects considered “hostile” against such creature.
- In example if you try to remove a Bigby spell from your ally, you won’t risk to also remove other spell “buffs” it has.
This is a big change and we will probably have to tweak the system a little bit. Share with us your feedback on Discord!
HOLY AVENGER REWORK #
With the recent changes to the spells system and to the dispel system, we are finally able to completely rework the Holy Avenger property on weapons.
Our new Holy Avenger property will do:
- +1d6 Divine damage against evil targets (this divine damage is ALWAYS added, regardless if such weapon has divine damage coming from other properties/sources)
- It attempts do dispel magic on-hit, with a caster level power equal to the Paladin levels of the wielder. If the wielder doesn’t have Paladin levels, it will use 10 as caster level.
Existing weapons with the Holy Avenger property will be migrated to this new custom property.
NOTE: If you had a Holy Avenger gem socketed on a Socketable Weapon, you will have to remove and re-add the gem for it to work with the new property!
POLYMORPH SYSTEM SPECIAL ABILITIES #
With the change explained above to our spells system, we are now able to manually assign a caster level to polymorph abilities!
This means, from now on, you will be able to quickslot all polymorph specific special abilities even at high level!
PALE MASTER LEVELS AS CASTER LEVEL #
From this patch, Pale Master levels will contribute to the character total caster level with a ratio of +1 caster level each 2 Pale Master levels.
In example: level 30 Wizard, 10 Pale Master: old caster level = 30 | new caster level = 35
WORLD BOSSES FROM PLAYERS #
From this patch, some players who happened to donate on the month of February 2024, will be able to spawn World Bosses on ADOH!

- World Bosses can only be spawned in specific areas, based on the World Boss tier.
- Each boss has a specific set of areas where it can be spawned

- To be able to loot the World Boss, you need to have actively fought it. A minimum percentage of damage received by the boss has to come from you to be able to loot it
- This means that both you cannot just stand aside and just wait for it to die, but also you don’t have to be the best DPS in the fight neither. Just fight it, that is all!
- You can be more of a support class and still be able to damage the boss enough to loot it

LOOT NEED/GREED SYSTEM UPDATE #
We have made the following changes to the Need Power system, when looting items inside of dungeons in party, to evenly increase drop changes for all members in a dungeon/raid run:
NEED Power system update: #
- It will cost -5 Need Power to need an item by default
- If the item is won, an additional amount of Need Power will be taken from that character, based on the item won:
- -30 if the item is a Purple Legendary Item
- -20 if the item is a Socketable Item
- -10 if the item is a Socketable Gem or a Nordock Item
- -10 additional if the item is also Vengeful
- -5 in any other case
- The need power of a character can never go below 20.
DUNGEONS RUN SYSTEM IMPROVED: #
When a dungeon will be flagged for a run event, it won’t generate Unique creatures and you won’t be ambushed in such runs when resting.
Also, at the end of the run, your total run time will be sent to a specific discord channel!

ENHANCED EPIC SUMMONS #
Enhanced some end-game summons, to better support their class in Dungeons and Raids:
- Collosal Mummy: 50% Fire Vilnerable instead of 100%. Epic Damage Reduction I added, 50 HP.
- Majestic Mummy: Epic Damage Reduction I added. 100 HP.
- Collosal Dragon: Extra 5% Physical immunity, Epic Damage reduction II, +2 AC and 200 HP.
- Majestic Dragon: +5% Phys immune, 100 HP, +1 AC and Epic Damage reduction 1.
OTHER: #
- Adjusted polymorph system to properly merge non-stacking properties like Massive Criticals
- Added total number of Quests per page on Quests Journal
- A character will be considered with a Pure Class even at level 39 if you only have 1 class and only have 39 levels. Or if you have 29 levels in a Prestige Class and only 39 levels in total.This was made to protect characters from losing Pure Class bonuses when leveling down from level 40 to level 39.
- Adjusted Druid/Shifter neck set bonus from AC to Regeneration.
- Added cooldown in description of such items that can be used only once each “n” hours.
- Updated Northern Templar Crystal: The crystal has 300 + 1.5* (NT class level x NT strength modifier) hit points (plus additional 300 hit points if the Northern Templar is Pure (30 levels)). Adjusted also Crystal resistances and vulnerabilities.
- Removed the cursed flag from Dead Wyrm quest Plate
- Added reset mechanic to Giant Wererat in Nocturnae Sewer
- Slightly reduced some Raid Boss HPs: Mastodon, Pyrosys, Silla.
- Added crit immune dummies in Test Area and Rhonnie’s Arena
- Updated Mummy Race fire vulnerability to 40% (down from 50%)
- Removed level cap from Grim Gorge low level dungeon (experimental)
- Lowered item level required for “Helmet of Shadows” to 30
